SAFMA TV journalism course

SAFMA’s first South Asian Media Centre (SAMC) has begun offering an 8-week course in TV journalism to the students from SAARC nations. The South Asian Free Media Association Secretariat has been shifted to the new premises at 177-A Shadman-II, Lahore situated off FCC underpass on Canal Road.

The centre has an auditorium for showing films, documentaries and live performances to select gatherings of experts for discussion and media projection. Dr Hassan Askari, Rita Manchanda, Najam Sethi, Khalid Ahmed, Salima Hashmi, Sharmini Boyle, Vinod Dua, Ivor Gaber, Shoaib Hashmi, Talat Hussain and Zafar Abbas are among the teachers delivering lectures to the first batch.

A whispering café has been set up at the centre to provide journalists, intellectuals and political leaders with a place to sit together, conceive and beget ideas and solutions and share their experiences.

Kishore Budha is one of the co-founders of Subaltern Media and the founder-editor of the peer-reviewed Open Access journal Wide Screen. He holds a PhD in media and communications studies from the University of Leeds, UK and has professional experience in print journalism, internet news, and public relations industries. His interests include Critical Theories of Media and Communication, Semiotics, Transnational Communication, Film industry & production, Film theory, Film and history, Communications Policy, Visual Culture, Communication Technologies, Web media and Communication

    This is Waheed Ullah from Afghanistan working in MSPA (Media Support Partnership Afghanistan). I want to have this course. Is SAFMA will take all my expenses there. By which way i can join this course. I have listen that four Afghani Students have finished this course. So kindly guide me by which way i can join you without any expenses from Afghanistan.
